This week our lab hosted Kay Grünewald (CSSB Hamburg) for a seminar. A day of fun and creative discussions was crowned by Kay’s seminar that brought together two of our strong communities in Umeå: infection biology (in particular virology) and integrated structural biology.

As Kay was my (=Lars’) PhD advisor we got the opportunity to take an “academic family photo” (Figure 1) with three generations of scientists: Kay, me and our lab’s PhD students Kasturika and Tim.
